I remember being surprised by something that beautiful August day fourteen years ago. Getting ready that morning I’d been so busy I forgot to shave. Instead of being upset like so many modern bridezillas, you just laughed and it’s been a family joke ever since. What surprised me though was not your laugh, or your beauty that day, but that all the nervousness and “cold feet” people talk so much about simply didn’t exist. There were no doubts, no worries, no wonders about whether you were “the one” for me. You were, you are, you always will be. As I sang you down the aisle and you came into view, the world stopped, and everything was just…right.
That was a beautiful day. Celebrating fourteen years with more to come today is even better. Happy Anniversary.
