Links of the Week

  • The “Emerging Church” (or “emerging church” as many prefer)…what is it? What’s it mean? Well, Scot McKnight has an article at Christianity Today to help sort it all out in your head.
  • Jim Martin has a two part series on blessing your children (part 1, part 2).
  • I find this to be an insightful post…rather apropos to what’s going on in the Churches of Christ right now, too (if you read the Jan. ’07 Gospel Advocate I think you’ll know what I mean…unfortunately they have no online content presence to speak of, so I can’t provide a link).
  • Among the Churches of Christ there is quite a stirring going on over the Richland Hills (TX) Church of Christ making the decision to have both a cappella and instrumental worship services. As in all things, you should hear the reasoning from the source, not from the Rumor Weed, so agree/disagree, here is a link to their reasoning.
  • After finding out that the U.S. Defense Dept. has sold jet & missile part to Iran, MSNBC rightly asks who is minding the store.

The Richland Hills Sermons are available for download in Real Audio & MP3 at this site:

  2. Bill says:

Look for “The Both/And Church – Part 3”,
    “The Both/And Church – Part 2”,
    “The Both/And Church – Part 1”

at the Richland Hills church of Christ site listed above.

  3. James says:

Thanks, Bill. The first several hours I had the link up there was a typo in the url. That’s been fixed, but points to the page specific to these lessons. I’ve seen the first two lessons, but haven’t yet listened to the third.

  4. Bill says:

Humm… Did you notice the “lighter number” was removed due to copyright infringement? Back to the “heavy” stuff! 🙂

  5. James says:

Nope, I hadn’t. That’s the thing with YouTube. From this end you never know if it’s there legally or not until they let it stay or remove it.
