If you haven’t already, please take a moment to click this post’s title link and read the blog by Larry James today.
I understand his sentiment, but I don’t agree with his assesments. I have not heard anywhere in the reliable press that the 60 billion is going to come out of medicaid. And the thing about Justice Roberts is absurd, don’t you think? He is stereotyping conservatives as poor haters (even though Bush has put more money in the budget for the poor than has Clinton). For Christians and babies, Justice Roberts presents some hope that Roe V Wade and other supreme court blunders might one day be rethought. What were your thoughts on the blog in question?
He wasn’t talking about Roberts, but the person likely to replace Justice O’Conner when she retires. I doubt, personally, that his son’s prediction will come true. I think we’re more likely to get a second person like Roberts, who’s conservative, but not extreme.
It’s funny. When I first read your response I thought we’d read two completely different posts. I wasn’t tuned to the political part of his post, but the bulk of it that had to do with the church’s responsibility to the poor.
